Shadow of Mordor Ranger & Wraith Abilities List (13)

Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor offers two unique skill trees organized in 5 Tiers, where you can unlock Ranger and Wraith abilities. In order to unlock any ability, you have to earn Ability points by killing Uruk, Captain and Warchief enemies. Each Tier can be unlocked after earning enough Power points.

Ranger Abilities

Ranger Abilities are Talion’s skills that help you improve combat effectiveness, the chance to earn Epic Runes, stealth maneuvers and much more.

Tier 1 Abilities
	Execution	When your Hit Streak is charged press (triangle + circle) to execute your target. Hit Streak Charged: Exery x8 consecutive hits the Hit Streak counter will turn red and your sword will glow.	Combat Finisher
	Impact	Countered enemies (triangle) / [RMB] will be knocked backward, stunned or knocked down.
	Strike From Above	Aerial takedowns (R2 + Square) / [Left SHIFT + LMB] on unaware targets become lethal.	Stealth Finisher
Tier 2 abilities – Unlocked at 160 P
	Critical Strike	Doubles Hit Streak gains on well-timed attacks. Tap (square) / [LMB] only once as each strike connects to receive yhe bonus. Other well timed moves such as Throw Dagger (L2) / [Q] can be critical strikes.
	Last Chance Finisher	The ability to deal a lethal finisher in a Last Chance Struggle.	Combat Finisher
	Poison	Press [Left CTRL] to Poison grog barrels.	Unlocked by playing Main Missions
	Throwing Daggers	Tap [Q] to throw a dagger that deals light damage and causes enemies to stragger backward.
	Brutalize	A terrifying stealth kill [hold Left SHIFT + RMB] that causes nearby enemies to flee and builds the Hit Streak.	Requires Strike From Above Stealth Finisher
Tier 3 abilities – Unlocked at 300 P
	Swift Finisher	Reduces the time required to perform a Ground Execution [left SHIFT + LMB] against a downed enemy.	Combat Finisher
	Vault Stun	Vaulting over an enemy [tap SPACEBAR] will now leave it stunned.
	Brace of Daggers	Upgrades Throwing Daggers so that three can be thrown in quick succession [quickly tap Q]. Fleeing enemies can be slain by thrown daggers.	Requires Throwing Daggers
	Shoulder Charge	Upgrades dash attacks [hold SPACEBAR] to sprint then tap [left CTRL] so that they will damage wooden shields and knock enemies down.
Tier 4 abilities – Unlocked at 500 P
	Blade Master	Reduces the Hit Streak threshold for Execution, Wraith Flash, Combat Drain, Wraith Burn, and Fire Arrow from 8 to 5	Requires Critical Strike
	Resilience	The ability to absorb one hit without the Hit Streak counter being reset.
	Death Threat	Issue a Death Threat to a Captain through interrogation. Death Treats greatly improve the odds of Epic rune drops from Warchiefs and add a 40% chance for Captain to drop them as well. Your target will increase in Power and acquire a gang.
Tier 5 abilities – Unlocked at 700 P
	Critical Strike 2	Triples Hit Streak gains on well-timed attackes. Tap (square) / [LMB] only once as each strike connects to receive the bonus.	Requires Blade Master
	Flame of Vengeance	Striking [LMB] enemies with a glowing sword will deal double damage.
	Double Charge	When your Hit Streak is charged you can perform two special attacks instead of one.	Combat Finisher

Wraith Abilities

Blue abilities in the Wraith tree represent Celebrimbor’s skills that focus more on crowd control, archery and domination.

Tier 1 Abilities
	Elven Swiftness	Time your landings (tap X) / [tap SPACEBAR]when mantling over obstacles to gain a temporary speed boost and +1 Hit Streak.
	Detonate	Shoot fires or barrels to cause them to explode. You are immune to damage from fires and explosions.
	Wraith Stun	Stun enemies [tap E] then follow with a flurry of sword strikes [tap LMB]
	Ride Caragors	Press [left CTRL] to mount Caragors from above. Once mounted, you can ride, climb, and fight with them.
Tier 2 abilities – Unlocked at 160 Power points
	Shadow Strike	Shadow Strike (hold L2 + tap X) / [RMB + Z] instantly transports you to your targets location and knock it down. This can help you escape lethal situations, traverse strongholds, pursue fleeing enemies or enter combat from a distance. This ability consumes 2 Elf-shot.	Unlocked by playing Main Missions.
	Pin in Place	Bow attacks aimed at an Uruk’s leg will pin him in place. Use quick pinning shots to keep a fleeing Uruk from escaping or immobilize tough Uruks in a fight.
	Wraith Flash	When your Hit Streak is charged, press (square + X) / [R] to perform a blast that stuns enemies and inflicts damage. Hit Streak charged: Every x8 consecutive hits the Hit Streak counter will turn red and your sword will glow.	Unlocked by playing Main Missions.
	Stealth Drain	Drain from stealth (hold R2+circle) / [hold left SHIFT + E]
	Caragor Hunter	Gain the ability to Counter Caragor attacks [RMB]. Caragors stunned by the Counter can be mounted. Also gain the ability to score a deadly counterattack from Last Chance Struggles with Caragors.	Unlocked by playing Main Missions.
Tier 3 abilities – Unlocked at 300 Power points
	Lethal Shadow Strike	A lethal version of Shadow Strike (L2 + square) / (RMB + X)	Requires Shadow Strike Ranged Finisher
	Wraith Finisher	Victims of Drain Flurry Kil will explode causing nearby enemies to recoil in terror.	Combat Finisher
	Combat Drain	When your Hit Streak is charged, press [C] to instantly Drain an Uruk, which recovers Elf-shot and terrifies the target. Hit Streak Charged: Every x8 consecutive hits the Hit Streak counter will turn red and your sword will glow.	Requires Stealth Drain Combat Finisher
	Graug Hunter	Use it to mount and ride stunned Graugs. Sneak up behind unaware Fraugs and tap LMB to blead them, causing massive damage and attracting Caragors.	Unlocked by playing Main Missions Requires Caragor Hunter
Tier 4 abilities – Unlocked at 500 Power points
	Fire Arrow	When your Hit Streak is charged you can unleash a Fire Arrow (hold L2 + R1). Fire arrows will cause huge explosions if used on barrels or campfires. Hit Streak Charged: Every x8 consecutive hits the Hit Streak counter will turn red and your sword will glow.	Ranged Finisher
	Wraith Blast	Upgrades Wraith Stun (tap circle) so that all enemies in a cone around your target are hit. The higher your Hit Streak the larger the cone.
	Brand	All Drain moves now Brand the target. Branded enemies will automatically fight by your side in combat. Or you can activate them from stealth with Up Arrow / [I].	Unlocked by playing Main Missions
	Shadow Mount	Instantly mount a Graug or Caragor with Shadow Strike	Requires Graug Hunter
Tier 5 abilities – Unlocked at 700 Power points
	Shadow Strike Chain	Chain together Shadow Strike attacks (hold L2 + X) or (L2 + square) / [hold RMB + Z] or [hold RMB + X]. During the attack push (L) / [mouse] in the direction of your next target and tap (x) or (square) / [Z] to continue the chain.	Requires Lethal Shadow Strike Ranged Finisher
	Quick Draw	Greately reduces the time it takes to charge a bow attack.
	Wraith Burn	When your Hit Streak is charged press (square) + (triangle) / [T] to kill any Uruks that are stunned or knocked down while other caught by the effect may flee in terror. Hit Streak Charged: Exery x8 consecutive hits the Hit Streak counter will turn red and your sword will glow.	Combat Finisher
	Dispatch	Press (down arrow) / (K) to kill all branded Uruks and Monsters.	Requires Brandability

While mounted on a Caragor, you can use it as a powerful weapon in combat. Additional controls for riding and attacking with Caragor are listed below:

R1 – Dismount

Shadow of Mordor Artifact locations guide - Udun Map (10)

Artifacts are collectible items that you come across while wandering through Mordor. There are 42 Artifacts in total – 19 are hidden in Udun and 23 in the Sea of Nurnen zone. In order to see and collect an Artifact you have to enter the Wraith world, and then you will see it as a shining object. Each Artifact rewards you with 50 Mirian, currency used to unlock Attributes. Before you start searching for collectibles climb to the top of the tower, where you’ll see an anvil that you can hit with a hammer. This action will unlocking the Forge Tower in the region. After that all artifact locations will be marked on the map. Upon collecting them all you will unlock the Shadows of the Ancient Past achievement.
